The UCS server support both KVM and Xen hypervisor using libvirt API. This port should include the base hypervisor packages and hypervisor specific packages for KVM or Xen. We have to pick a hypervisor for our initial effort and to use as out default virtualization platform. The Xen project has lot of good documentation compare to KVM but the KVM seems to have more traction in the community. We can choose either one of them. We have to test the KVM hypervisor for stability and ease of use and if the test is ok, we can pick KVM over Xen. I am keeping the Due data as 29 Sep 2013 to have more room for the Smart server beta testing.

We use this ISO as a prototype, customer demo, etc. At this point, we can give our ISO for general public for testing. We can also use this ISO as the target for potential BETA testing.

We need to keep all the source code comment header intact with the reference to Univention name. We have to make sure the command line commands, file paths, folder name, etc does not have reference to the Univention name. For example command "univention-join" should be renamed as smart-join, etc

We start with the Debian ISO creation scripts/process to jump start this task.
