removes an unreachable block of code from ide/api/git.py

I was waiting for the tests for ide/git.py before I bothered trying to get the tests/dead code removal for ide/api/git.py in; but I thought I'd at least put all the changes where someone could find them should these tests ever get merged in. :-) |

All of the methods in ide/git.py, ide/api/git.py now have unit tests.
Also removed an unreachable block of code from ide/api/git.py
