Summary
Documents the new default v2 login method for
porter auth login, including session-based credential storage in the OS keyring and how--token/PORTER_TOKENoverrides still work.Context
Triggered by porter-dev/code#6233 (chore: default CLI login method to v2). New CLI installs now default to a refreshable v2 session stored in the OS keyring instead of a plaintext token in
~/.porter/porter.yaml. Existing configs are upgraded automatically on the next run, and explicit token auth (CI/CD) continues to take precedence.Changes
standard/cli/command-reference/porter-auth.mdx: added "Default login method (v2)" and "Token and environment overrides" sections; noted keyring clearing on logout.enterprise/cli/command-reference/porter-auth.mdx: same notes adapted to the enterprise reference page.cc @d-g-town for review.
