Please report security issues privately to the project maintainer. If no private channel is listed on the repository, open a minimal issue asking for a secure contact method and avoid posting exploit details.

Helpful reports include:

• Affected version or commit.
• Steps to reproduce.
• Impact and whether microphone audio, transcripts, or local files are exposed.
• Suggested fix, if known.

OpenWords is designed to run transcription locally on your Mac. By default it writes runtime logs under:

~/Library/Application Support/OpenWords/logs

Normal logs avoid transcript text. Audio debug recordings and raw transcript debug files are opt-in with OPENWORDS_SAVE_DEBUG_AUDIO=1 and OPENWORDS_LOG_TRANSCRIPTS=1.

Do not share logs or debug recordings publicly unless you have reviewed them.
