Can we just move all this to a separate pathfinding system? Instead of having each entity's AI use roughly the same pathfinding code, we could just have a Pathfinder component that tracks a position to pathfind to and provides an array of moves to make that the mob's AI system can follow.
Also ideally there would be a way to break the pathfinding process up over multiple ticks to avoid spikes in computation.
